Frequently Asked Questions – Ski Course

How early should I arrive?

We recommend everyone arrive well in advance of the course start. Courses begin promptly to ensure all participants get the most benefit from the ski courses. If you need to borrow ski equipment, we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the course starts.

Tip! Take weather and conditions into account. Winter conditions often lead to delays in both traffic and public transport.

How do I find my way?

The ski courses are held at Holmenkollen national arena. The meeting point is outside Bull Aktiv's premises in the service building behind the biathlon targets. For directions, see Google maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/BullAktiv

I'm late, what should I do?

Courses start at the scheduled time, and unfortunately, participation cannot be guaranteed if you arrive late, out of consideration for the other course participants.
The courses take place in different parts of the Holmenkollen trail network, so it is possible to try and find your group. However, we cannot assist with this after the courses have started.

Do I need to arrive with freshly waxed skis?

We encourage everyone to follow our waxing tips and arrive with freshly waxed skis before the course starts. Daily waxing tips can be found here: www.bullsuperski.no
We offer free loan of skis, poles, and boots for both styles if needed; remember to check "wishes ski rental" when registering for the course.

I am sick or prevented from attending one course evening; can I still participate in the remaining course evenings?

Unfortunately, it can happen that you cannot attend a course evening due to illness or other reasons, but you can still participate in the remaining course evenings you are registered for if you are able to.
Our ski courses follow a plan that includes different elements. For example, a classic course will cover technique and training with different content each course evening. One evening will focus on diagonal stride, another evening on double poling, etc. In other words, you will miss some instruction, but you will still get great benefit from the remaining course evenings.

Which group should I sign up for?

The available course levels may vary during registration, as your company may have chosen different levels for its ski courses. But we generally define them as follows:

Beginner: Suitable for those who are completely new or relatively new to skiing and want an introduction to basic cross-country skiing technique.

Intermediate: Suitable for those with basic cross-country skiing skills. The course will largely focus on developing a more efficient technique based on each participant's level. For those who wish, there will be an opportunity for the coach to use video during the sessions to provide a better understanding of the technique.

Elite: For those who have skied a lot and want to focus more on technique at high speed and technical details to perfect their cross-country skiing technique.

Race Group/Training Group: Perfect for those training for a specific race or event. The sessions focus on exercises that improve technique and fine-tune form.

I'm unsure whether I fit into the beginner or intermediate group; which one should I choose?

If you are unsure whether to choose the beginner or intermediate group, we often recommend intermediate, as you usually have some skiing experience. If you join the intermediate group, you must expect the course to take place further out in the trail network, requiring enough experience to get there. The level within the groups can vary quite a bit across different course groups, but with groups of a maximum of 8 participants, we ensure that all participants receive close follow-up from our coaches who have extensive experience in facilitating the best possible benefit and learning for all participants regardless of level.

I'm missing equipment/my equipment is broken, can I buy from you?

All participants in our ski courses receive good discounts from us. You can shop for these in our premises at the Bull Superski store, where you'll find skis, boots, poles, ski wax, gloves, straps, baskets, and much more.
